WEEKLY PLAY

The women's golf association (WGA) plays every Thursday morning, using a shotgun start. The players usually lunch together after golf. On the last Thursday of each month, there is a membership meeting.  If you do not want to play a full 18 holes, there is also a 9 hole ladies' group that plays each Thursday.

 THE WILLIAMSBURG CUP

The Williamsburg Cup competition is a match play event with WCC, Ford's Colony, Kingsmill and Two Rivers.  We play three competitive matches during the season with a fourth match that includes players from each club playing just for fun and fellowship. Each club holds a qualifying event to determine which of their A, B, C, & D players will participate in each match.  If you have played in one match we try to involve other players in the subsequent matches so that as many different players as possible can be involved.

 HOME AND HOME

We have Home & Home matches with Two Rivers and Golden Horseshoe during the season. It's a two best ball of the foursome event with players from both clubs participating on each team.  Any WGA member can sign up to participate.  There is no qualifying event and players from all flights are welcome.

 TIDEWATER TEAM MATCHES

Our club also participates in the Tidewater Team Matches held each Spring. This is a Better Ball Match Play event.  Clubs all over the Hampton Roads area participate.  Each club fields an A, B, & C team.

 HAMPTON ROADS WOMEN'S GOLF ASSOCIATION

Some of our WGA members are also members of the Hampton Roads Women's Golf Association and the Tidewater Women's Golf Association. Both organizations provide an opportunity to sharpen their individual skills by entering into competition with women of like skills.  Both organizations provide good fellowship and promote good sportsmanship among the participating clubs.

 STATE TEAM MATCH COMPETITION

Members of the WGA usually qualify to represent WCC at the State Team Match Competition each fall.
